Role Overview
The Business Operations team tackles critical company-wide initiatives influencing product development, customer operations, go-to-market strategies, and overall success. This dynamic team excels in transforming ambiguity into structure, aligning stakeholders, providing strategic guidance, and driving operational excellence, functioning as the essential link across company functions.
The Business Operations Manager plays a key role as a problem solver adept at dissecting complex business issues, a proactive executor capable of independent complex analysis, a hands-on operator overcoming challenges, and a trusted collaborator influencing executive stakeholders. Success in this role involves leading strategic projects from inception, driving impactful business results, and executing major operational decisions.
This position offers opportunity for candidates to specialize in business challenges long-term, gaining deep operational and executive experience within a high-growth startup and paving the way toward leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify operational challenges and intervene with business leaders to formulate and implement effective solutions that enhance efficiency.
- Design and refine monetization strategies including pricing and packaging to competitively position Rippling’s diverse product suite and accelerate growth.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, sales, and go-to-market teams to launch new initiatives and optimize performance through improvements in systems, processes, and products.
- Perform data analysis for projects by independently retrieving data, constructing dashboards, and synthesizing insights to inform decisions.
- Work closely with finance and revenue operations to standardize and communicate essential business performance metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience in management consulting, business operations, venture capital, private equity, or entrepreneurship, with consideration given to outstanding candidates from leading companies having fewer years.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally within fast-growing organizations and a clear understanding of organizational dynamics.
- An analytical thinker who prefers working with data and spreadsheets over presentations.
- Competence operating at all organizational levels, from strategic discussions with executives to close collaboration with individual contributors on operational issues.
- Exceptional ownership and determination to fully resolve problems without abandoning efforts prematurely.
- Self-driven and capable of making sound judgments independently, efficiently navigating ambiguous situations, and adapting quickly.
