Barista

Role Summary

The Barista plays a key part in delivering outstanding beverage experiences by preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty drinks in line with Rosewood's standards. This position helps craft memorable guest interactions through excellent product quality, attentive service, and maintaining top-tier cleanliness and presentation.

Main Duties

• Offer warm, courteous, and customized service to all guests.
• Engage with clientele to understand their preferences, suggesting appropriate drinks and food pairings.
• Proactively identify guest needs, promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Exemplify Rosewood's culture of sincere hospitality and luxurious service in every guest encounter.
• Craft and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, fresh juices, mocktails, and other specialty drinks following set recipes and standards.
• Operate and upkeep coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment.
• Check beverage quality, consistency, appearance, and temperature prior to serving.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods, and beverage selections.
• Keep workstations, counters, and service areas tidy, organized, and well-stocked consistently.
• Execute daily opening and closing business procedures as per department standards.
• Track inventory levels, reporting replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Support stock rotation using FIFO methods to reduce waste.
• Comply with all food safety, HACCP, and sanitation protocols.
• Maintain grooming and personal hygiene according to Rosewood standards.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained following manufacturer instructions.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and emergency protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

• Holding a professional Barista certification is preferred.
• At least 1 to 2 years' experience as a Barista in luxury hotels, premium cafés, restaurants, or hospitality settings.
• Experience preparing specialty coffee and espresso-based drinks is desirable.
• Strong skills in coffee preparation and latte art.
• Excellent guest service and communication capabilities.
• Good understanding of coffee beans, brewing techniques, and current beverage trends.
