Job Overview

The role calls for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Engineer who will assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing infrastructure and utility projects. This position entails close collaboration with project managers, clients, governmental bodies, and site teams to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within deadlines. Ideal candidates will be organized, resourceful, and keen to expand their engineering and project management skills.

Key Duties

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and goals to aid successful project completion.
  • Engage with clients to clarify project needs, deliverables, and parameters.
  • Arrange, attend, and formally record meetings with stakeholders, clients, and project teams.
  • Secure and maintain necessary project permits and approvals from authorities such as NCE, LTA, NParks, GTP, MPA, and LPB.
  • Collaborate with TPOM Officers and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth field operations.
  • Monitor permit validity and oversee timely renewals to avoid project delays.
  • Coordinate work schedules, reinstatements, and project logistics with SP Group officials.
  • Provide support to Project Managers in planning, executing, tracking, and reporting tasks.
  • Take part in design and coordination meetings, suggesting improvements where suitable.
  • Track project timelines, budget use, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and adherence to plans.
  • Ensure seamless cooperation among internal teams and external parties to facilitate timely project delivery.
  • Organize and produce project-related documentation including reports, proposals, minutes, and correspondence.
  • Serve as a primary communication liaison for project matters and working groups.
  • Maintain well-organized, accurate records of all project activities.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors or department heads.

Qualifications Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • Preferably with experience in project coordination, engineering, or construction.
  • Familiarity with local authority approval processes is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of SP Group’s procedures, utility coordination, and regulatory requirements in Singapore.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Holding a valid Class 2 or Class 3 driving license is beneficial for site access.

Additional Information

  • Workweek: Six days per week.
  • Work Location: Office situated at No. 3 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729556 (North Singapore).
