Role overview
This opportunity sits within a growing organisation supporting an important infrastructure program in Western Australia. The position is field-based and focused on inspecting, assessing, and documenting overhead and underground power assets, along with nearby vegetation. It is a drive-in drive-out arrangement with a 10-days-on and 4-days-off roster, and it offers variety, practical work, and potential for long-term growth in the energy and utilities sector.
Key duties
- Carry out inspections of powerlines, power poles, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Spot and record defects in assets, including vegetation that is too close to the network.
- Perform vegetation assessments and issue notices to landowners where needed.
- Support planning and scoping activities for maintenance and upgrade work.
- Undertake practical field tasks such as wire replacement, earth repairs, and installation of pole reinforcements.
- Record information accurately in Western Power systems using an iPad.
Qualifications and requirements
- Certificate II or III in ESI Asset Inspection is preferred.
- White Card is required.
- A valid C-Class driver’s licence or above is required.
- Basic computer skills are needed, including Excel, Outlook, and iPad data entry.
- The role suits someone with strong attention to detail and the ability to work on their own.
- Good communication skills are important for dealing with customers and landowners.
- You must be prepared to travel and stay away from home when the job requires it.
