Role Overview
The Asset Information Technician will handle the upkeep and enhancement of Northpower's asset information systems. Collaborating closely with internal teams, contractors, designers, and field personnel, the role ensures precise management of network data to support the safe, effective functioning of the electricity network.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain asset and network data in Northpower's core systems using as-built drawings, maintenance plans, survey data, and project documents.
- Input data accurately following business guidelines, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and verify asset records to raise data completeness, accuracy, and quality.
- Partner with project managers, contractors, and operational teams to capture details of proposed and recently installed assets.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Deliver timely and professional support to both internal and external customers.
- Participate in special projects involving system development, integration, and process enhancements.
- Support a culture focused on health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or construction industries preferred.
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS, Maximo, or other Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software is advantageous.
- Exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapping tools, or data viewers.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of asset management or asset data management practices.
- Experience with data quality assurance and reconciliation tasks.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to interpret plans, survey info, and as-built drawings.
- Experience with CAD software is desirable.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A customer-centric approach with the ability to foster positive relationships.
