Job Overview
The Area Manager role involves achieving sales targets both in product quantity and value across primary and secondary sales within the assigned territory. This position requires managing key customer relationships, ensuring team performance, and implementing strategic action plans for business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets by product and value for the designated region covering primary and secondary sales.
- Build and nurture strong associations with doctors, retailers, and stockists through customer engagement strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Regularly review and assess team performance and area results to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Devise and execute action plans aimed at continuous enhancement of sales outcomes.
- Pinpoint skill deficiencies within the team and undertake initiatives to train and develop personnel accordingly.
- Ensure strict compliance with the organization’s credit policy to mitigate financial risks within the operational area.
- Monitor and control outstanding payment collections to manage financial exposure.
- Lead recruitment and assimilation of Medical Executives and Medical Trainees timely as per company standards to avoid disruption in sales activities.
- Supervise field operations of Medical Executives and Medical Trainees, ensuring prompt submission of daily activity reports.
- Guide and support team members in executing company sales strategies effectively.
- Gather and provide insights on market trends, competitor tactics, and promotional events to support strategic decisions.
- Address and resolve operational and team-related challenges promptly; escalate unresolved issues to management and head office to prevent delays.
Experience and Education
The ideal candidate will have an overall experience of 8 to 10 years with a minimum of 2 years serving as a First Line Manager. A graduate degree in Pharmacy is required.
