Job Overview

The Architectural Fit-Out Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of interior fit-out design, planning, and execution. This role ensures compliance with design intents, quality benchmarks, building regulations, and project timelines. Serving as a communication bridge among architects, contractors, and project managers, the engineer delivers exceptional environments across commercial, residential, and retail spaces.

Main Duties

• Review architectural and shop drawings plus material submissions to confirm adherence to design and specifications.
• Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, MEP engineers, and contractors to synchronize fit-out activities.
• Supervise on-site fit-out operations including partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, finishes, and furniture installation.
• Develop work schedules, manage material procurement, and allocate manpower for various fit-out tasks.
• Ensure fit-out progress aligns with deadlines, budget limits, and quality standards.
• Perform quality inspections, generate snag lists, and oversee rectifications prior to project handover.
• Troubleshoot on-site technical challenges and guide contractors on installation and detailing matters.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to guarantee prompt delivery and installation of materials and furnishings.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
• Compile progress reports, site documentation, and status updates for management review.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Between 3 and 7 years of hands-on experience in architectural fit-out projects across commercial, hospitality, residential, or retail sectors.
• In-depth understanding of fit-out materials, finishes, and construction processes.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings effectively.
• Knowledge of building codes, fire safety regulations, and quality assurance standards.
• Excellent skills in organization, communication, and problem resolution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and similar tools.
• Possession of PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
