About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to join our Engine Shop team in Doha, Qatar. This position involves executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), including Borescope Inspection (BSI) support, in alignment with the capabilities and work requirements of the engine facility. The role demands adherence to company policies regarding tools, safety, housekeeping, and maintenance standards to achieve the highest quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all planned and unplanned engine and APU maintenance activities, delivering BSI support as required by the engine shop and under supervision of Engineers or Supervisors.
- Possess thorough knowledge of assigned tasks and proactively seek assistance for unfamiliar procedures.
- Work strictly following the latest maintenance data and company documentation related to engine upkeep.
- Comply with all safety guidelines provided by manufacturers and company publications during all maintenance operations.
- Maintain assigned toolboxes with accurate inventories, ensure timely return of borrowed tools after shifts, and report any damaged or unusable tools adhering to TPM procedures.
- Promptly report any accidents or incidents to respective Engineers or Supervisors.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and participate actively in toolbox talks conducted by supervisory staff.
- Uphold exemplary housekeeping standards within the engine facility at all times.
- Assist in internal and external Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery operations as delegated by management.
- Carry out additional department-related duties as instructed by the Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, trade or vocational qualification, or a degree such as B.Eng. or BSc in aircraft engineering.
- Hold an ICAO Type 2 Basic license with a minimum of five years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, including apprenticeship.
- Demonstrated experience working with Qatar Airways engine fleet and familiarity with Airbus and Boeing documentation.
- Proven expertise in engine module removal and installation, as well as borescope support.
- Familiarity with engines such as V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GENx, GP7000, Trent XWB is highly advantageous.
- Experience supporting borescope inspections for engines and APUs including models GTCP 331-250/350, APS3200, and GE Nx is an added benefit.
- Previous work experience in an engine shop setting is required.
