Advisor Wellbeing Support

Role Overview

We have two permanent Advisor Wellbeing Support positions available: one located in New Plymouth and the other in Palmerston North. These positions offer the chance to make a significant difference by supporting customers and their whānau through complex wellbeing challenges, including family harm and related social issues.

The role involves working closely with diverse local stakeholders and leveraging strong community networks to connect individuals with necessary supports, thereby improving wellbeing outcomes in the communities served.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in family harm and social services to assist whānau facing multifaceted wellbeing difficulties.
• Engage with local community groups and stakeholders to foster strong partnerships and lasting impact.
• Work collaboratively with multiple agencies to advocate for and support positive customer outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in addressing complex wellbeing needs, such as family harm, crisis intervention, housing instability, and mental health challenges.
• Comprehensive knowledge of social services and available community support resources.
• Established connections within local networks, including community organizations, iwi, hapū, and service providers.
• Proven skills in advocacy, influencing, and collaboration across agencies.
• Experience coaching or mentoring individuals managing complex cases.
• Cultural competency and respect when working with diverse populations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with an empathetic and cooperative approach.
• Preferably professional background in social work, family violence prevention, community services, housing support, mental health, corrections, or related fields.
• Possession of a current full New Zealand Driver Licence and readiness to travel throughout the region.
