Role overview
Bradford International School in Patna is seeking a full-time Admissions Counselor to support student recruitment and the admissions journey. The position focuses on helping prospective students and their families understand program options, application steps, and admission requirements while representing the institution at outreach and recruitment activities.
Key responsibilities
- Promote the institution through school visits, college fairs, recruitment drives, and similar outreach activities.
- Build and maintain strong connections with prospective students, parents or families, school counselors, and community contacts.
- Respond to questions from prospects through phone, email, and social media channels.
- Review applications and supporting documents such as academic records, essays, and test scores to assess eligibility.
- Explain application requirements, deadlines, and next steps clearly to applicants.
- Guide students on financial aid options, scholarships, and student life topics.
- Hold one-on-one counseling sessions with students and families to help them choose suitable programs.
- Provide clear information on admissions procedures, eligibility criteria, and academic opportunities.
- Support campus tours, open houses, virtual sessions, and in-person information events.
- Represent the institution at recruitment events and college fairs.
- Keep accurate records of applicant interactions and application progress.
- Track outreach activity, monitor conversion trends, and prepare reports on recruitment outcomes.
- Help improve recruitment plans and admissions processes based on data and feedback.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience can apply; prior exposure to admissions, recruitment, customer service, or education is preferred.
- Working knowledge of school or college admissions processes is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, presentable personality are expected.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
- Good organization and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Slate is preferred.
- Sales orientation and the ability to achieve targets are important.
- Enthusiastic, approachable, detail-focused, and capable of handling sensitive student information.
- Must be able to communicate information persuasively and make sound decisions when needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events and to work evenings or weekends during peak admission periods.
