Overview
Momentum Group NZ is hiring an Account Manager to join its Ponsonby, Auckland team. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Business Director.
Momentum Group is an independent, New Zealand-owned full-service media agency founded in 2016. The team brings together strategists, technologists, planners and media specialists to help brands grow by combining strategy, media, technology, data and creativity into one connected approach.
In this role, you will be the main point of contact for clients and will help ensure every account is run smoothly, commercially responsibly, and with strong communication. You will work across media, performance, creative, data and technology teams to manage campaigns from brief to delivery and reporting.
Core responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients and build dependable relationships through proactive communication.
- Run regular check-ins, work-in-progress meetings, status updates and campaign reviews.
- Set expectations with clients around timelines, deliverables and outcomes, while raising risks early and offering solutions.
- Take ownership of campaign coordination from the initial brief through to completion.
- Translate client briefs into clear direction for internal teams.
- Brief planning, buying and performance specialists, and make sure work stays aligned to agreed timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor approvals, budgets and outputs so campaigns are delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Handle campaign changes, updates and optimisation requests as work progresses.
- Support performance reporting and post-campaign reviews, ensuring results are communicated clearly against client KPIs.
- Work with specialists to convert performance data into practical insights for clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve results, optimise activity and expand the scope of work where appropriate.
- Keep scopes, approvals and documentation accurate across all accounts.
- Ensure bookings, changes and forecasts are reviewed, approved and recorded correctly.
- Partner with Finance to support clean billing and reconciliation.
- Escalate scope creep and commercial risks quickly and clearly.
- Collaborate closely with media, performance and creative teams so work stays aligned and nothing is missed.
- Contribute to team planning, workflow coordination and process improvements.
- Support and mentor junior team members where needed and take ownership of issues end to end.

Experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in account management or client service within a media, marketing or advertising agency.
- A solid understanding of how campaigns move through media, performance and creative workflows.
- Confidence in managing clients and coordinating several workstreams at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Comfort working with data, technology, software and systems.
