Job description
Overview
The Academic Coordinator plays a pivotal role in sustaining the preschool's academic excellence by leading effective Montessori curriculum implementation, supervising staff, and ensuring optimal classroom standards. This position requires close collaboration with teachers and families to support child development and maintain high educational quality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the Montessori curriculum, regularly reviewing lesson plans to meet learning targets.
- Observe, mentor, and coach teaching staff while conducting ongoing professional development sessions.
- Ensure classrooms are safe, well-organized, and conform to established quality standards through routine audits.
- Track children's academic progress, evaluate assessments, and offer guidance to students requiring additional support.
- Maintain active communication with parents, facilitate conferences, and resolve academic concerns efficiently.
- Handle academic administrative tasks including record keeping and compliance monitoring.
- Manage classroom resources by monitoring availability and recommending new teaching materials.
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Tasks
- Daily: Classroom visits, teaching observation, teacher support, lesson plan reviews, issue resolution.
- Weekly: Inspect classrooms, coach teachers, assess curriculum progress, participate in academic meetings.
- Monthly: Evaluate teachers, assess students' progress, prepare academic reports, review educational resources.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- M Montessori training or experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in English communication.

Strong leadership, curriculum development and planning, teacher mentoring, child progress evaluation, effective parent communication, team leadership, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
