Role Overview

This is a part-time remote opportunity for a web scraping specialist supporting a client’s business intelligence and market research work. The position focuses on collecting public web data and organizing it into a usable format.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather structured information from selected websites and online sources using a mix of automated tools and manual techniques.
• Review, clean, and arrange extracted data so it is accurate and ready for analysis.
• Keep scraping scripts and tools up to date when site layouts or data formats change.
• Record the scraping approach, data sources, and any issues encountered for future reference.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify data needs and improve the efficiency of the scraping process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or a similar scripting language used for building and maintaining scrapers.
• Hands-on experience with scraping tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Puppeteer.
• Comfort with HTML, CSS selectors, and browser developer tools for locating and extracting data.
• Ability to clean and transform data using tools such as Pandas or OpenRefine.
• Strong focus on accuracy and consistency in data handling.
• Self-motivated approach suitable for remote, independent work.
