Role overview

Arnold Clark is hiring an energetic and driven Valeter for its Vauxhall branch in Morecambe. The role focuses on keeping sold and stock vehicles presented to a very high standard while supporting the branch with a hands-on, active approach.

Working hours

This is a full-time position with hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Key duties

• Prepare sold and stock vehicles so they meet a high presentation standard
• Wash vehicle exteriors using a pressure washer
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors with professional equipment
• Use polishing and buffing tools to improve the appearance of bodywork
• Follow health and safety rules when handling cleaning chemicals
• Keep all tools and machinery secure, maintained, and used according to manufacturer guidance and PPE requirements
• Work efficiently toward set deadlines and performance targets
• Use an online diary tool to organise the vehicle schedule
• Maintain a daily log of completed work
• Support the branch with other tasks when needed

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will enjoy practical, physical work, take pride in getting the details right, and contribute positively within a team. Prior valeting experience is useful but not required, as full training can be given to someone who shows strong enthusiasm and meets the other criteria. All new valet team members will also attend the Valet Academy.

• Full UK driving licence
• Comfort using basic computer systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter who can also work well with others
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Willingness to take part in training programmes
