Role overview
Mitre 10 is a well-known, New Zealand-owned and operated retail brand with stores across the country. The business is looking for a strong Trade Representative to help grow its trade division at Mitre 10 Mega Mt Wellington in Auckland.
About the position
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract based in Mt Wellington. The role includes 42.5 paid hours each week. A large part of the job will involve travelling around Auckland to identify new business opportunities, strengthen market presence, and support existing trade customers.
The focus of the role is to create genuine, lasting customer relationships and provide a level of service that encourages repeat business. You will be supported by a high-performing team that values both hard work and a positive workplace culture.
What the role involves
The Trade Representative will be responsible for growing the trade customer base, managing current accounts, and building strong relationships with trade clients. The position calls for proactive market engagement and a customer-first approach to service delivery.
Experience and skills needed
The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with relevant industry experience and a strong interest in relationship-building. A background in the building and allied industry is important, along with practical knowledge of building products and sales methods.
You should also bring account management experience, a solution-oriented mindset, strong organisation, adaptability, and a results-driven attitude. A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
