Role Overview

This position sits within the Engineering & Facilities function at JW Marriott in Doha and is responsible for overseeing maintenance work, supporting equipment reliability, and helping maintain a safe, efficient hotel environment. The role is a full-time, non-management position based on site at the conference centre location in West Bay, Doha.

Core Duties

The role involves installing, servicing, and preventing breakdowns in tools, appliances, and equipment, as well as advising on when items should be replaced. It includes checking and adjusting controls, gauges, meters, and related systems; locating and operating shut-off valves; ordering and tracking parts and supplies; and keeping inventory and purchase records up to date.

You will inspect tools, machines, and equipment, use computer systems to enter and retrieve work information, and operate a power lift when required. The job also covers life-safety inspections such as fire-pump and generator run tests, checking sprinkler valves and alarm systems, and supporting disaster-response planning. Guest repair requests must be handled promptly and professionally.

Team Leadership and Service Standards

The position supports management with hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing performance, counseling, discipline, and coaching of team members. You are expected to follow company safety, security, and confidentiality standards, complete required safety training and certifications, and respond to maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries in line with procedure.

Service delivery is a key part of the role: guests should be welcomed courteously, their needs anticipated, and support provided to guests with disabilities when needed. Strong working relationships with colleagues are important, along with clear communication, teamwork, and a commitment to quality, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.

Physical and Work Expectations

This role requires active movement throughout the workday, including standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items of up to 50 pounds without assistance. The job may also require climbing stairs and service ramps and handling tools or objects of different sizes and weights.

Preferred Background

A technical, trade, or vocational school qualification is preferred. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
