Role overview
Jumbuck Pastoral is seeking a motivated Station Hand to join its crew at Mulgathing, one of South Australia’s large sheep stations in the North West pastoral area. The property is based in the Glendambo and Coober Pedy district, roughly 120 km west of the Stuart Highway, and spans an area larger than Trinidad and Tobago.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, is eager to build practical skills, takes pride in doing quality work, and wants to experience genuine outback station living. Every day will look a little different, and you’ll be part of a supportive team where attitude is valued as highly as prior experience.
Key duties
- Operate 2-wheel motorbikes as part of station work.
- Assist with sheep mustering and other livestock tasks.
- Carry out water runs across the property.
- Repair fences and help with general station upkeep.
- Support irrigation-related work.
- Handle maintenance on vehicles and motorbikes.
- Contribute to livestock care and animal welfare.
- Pitch in wherever support is needed around the station.
