Senior Backend Developer

Role overview

MACH CONSULTANTS is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer to drive the design and build-out of secure, scalable, and high-performance backend platforms for banking use cases. This role is based in Doha, Qatar and requires full bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.

Key responsibilities

• Create, build, and support robust RESTful services with Spring Boot.
• Design backend solutions that can scale effectively across microservices and distributed environments.
• Provide technical leadership, including mentoring and supporting junior team members.
• Work with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Review code and help uphold strong software engineering standards.
• Tune application performance for demanding, high-traffic production settings.
• Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and efficient deployments.
• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents quickly and effectively.

Candidate profile

• 8 to 10 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Advanced knowledge of Spring Boot, REST API design, and object-oriented programming.
• Solid understanding of banking-domain systems and workflows.
• Practical experience with microservices and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical thinking and system design capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Arabic and English fluency is required.
