About the Role
The Engineer – EHS – Site plays a crucial role in upholding Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards at project locations. This position involves continuous oversight of safety protocols, ensuring compliance with established operating procedures, and proactively identifying potential risks. The role supports various EHS initiatives including site audits, training sessions, contractor management, incident documentation, and environmental stewardship, all contributing to a secure, compliant, and sustainable workplace.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to pinpoint hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions.
- Verify compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal safety mandates, and manage required EHS documentation.
- Supervise contractor activities, ensuring correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and adherence to permit-to-work procedures.
- Assist in the prompt reporting and investigation of accidents, near-misses, and hazardous situations, maintaining records and contributing to root cause analyses.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, site inductions, and daily safety briefings in collaboration with site operations teams.
