Room Inspector/Inspectress

Role Overview

Salus Altmark Holding is hiring a Room Inspector/Inspectress for the Newark Comfort Inn & Suites in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. This on-site position focuses on maintaining high housekeeping standards, checking room quality, supporting guest satisfaction, and helping coordinate cleaning operations across guest rooms and common service areas.

Key Duties

• Work across a flexible rota that may include weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Check that guest rooms, corridors, and service spaces are cleaned to the standards set by the hotel, Shaner, and the franchise.
• Make sure house rules, safety requirements, housekeeping methods, and security procedures are consistently observed.
• Address guest concerns and complaints with the aim of delivering a satisfactory stay.
• Keep daily work areas clean and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout assigned tasks.
• Carry out periodic deep-cleaning and seasonal cleaning assignments when scheduled.
• Step in for housekeeping, laundry, or houseperson duties whenever business needs require it.
• Take on other responsibilities as needed.

Supervision and Team Support

In addition to inspection duties, the role includes overseeing assigned Guest Room Attendants and Housepersons, coaching them where needed, and verifying that work is completed according to hotel procedures and service expectations. The position also supports service delivery directly when extra help is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cleaning experience is required; hotel housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are needed to interact clearly with guests, management, and teammates.
• Knowledge of how to handle cleaning chemicals safely and correctly is important.
• Being bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
• Awareness of local attractions and activities suited to guests is beneficial.
