Role overview
Zaxbys is looking to add an Assistant Manager in Powdersville, SC. This role focuses on keeping the restaurant running smoothly, creating a positive guest experience, and ensuring daily operations meet company standards.
The position carries an hourly pay range of $20.00 to $24.00. The restaurant describes itself as a lively place for guests and a rewarding workplace for team members.
What you will do
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations and make sure all policies, procedures, and standards are followed.
- Make sure guests receive a great experience and that team members consistently meet or exceed expectations.
- Coach, train, and develop team members, including ongoing support and performance improvement.
- Build work schedules in line with company rules and local labor requirements.
- Assign shift tasks, set clear expectations, and adjust coverage or priorities as needed.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the team to perform at a high level and work toward quarterly goals.
- Maintain high standards for service, food quality, and cleanliness.
- Share performance concerns with the General Manager when needed.
- Support performance reviews and help mentor team members.
- Encourage a healthy team culture by recognizing strong work and leading by example.
- Respond promptly and respectfully to guest or team complaints, concerns, and injuries, and report them properly.
- Keep operations aligned with Zaxby’s and Zax LLC policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws and guidelines.
- Use management tools and keep records accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Handle additional duties needed to keep restaurant operations functioning well.
- Promote safe work habits and ensure the team follows safety procedures.
- Escalate HR, risk, and other operational concerns to the appropriate managers.
Training and compliance
- Complete all required training, including the Assistant Manager Development Plan.
- Finish Food Safety Certification and Manager Certification.
- Complete any other training required by Zax LLC.
- Stay flexible and be willing to take on duties beyond the standard scope of the role when needed.

- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Strong leadership, organization, and teamwork skills are needed.
- 1 to 3 years of management experience is required.
- Restaurant management experience is preferred.
Physical and work environment requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasional stooping, bending, crouching, climbing, and ladder use.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Regular use of hands and wrists for gripping and precise movement.
- Ability to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strong visual and auditory awareness to monitor and respond to surroundings.
- Comfortable working around hot and cold temperatures and food allergens.
- Able to safely use restaurant equipment such as knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
