About the organisation

A major public-sector body in Ireland is looking for someone to help advance improvements in health and social care through research, data analysis and collaboration with stakeholders. The team is building a new national initiative aimed at better understanding and improving paediatric experiences across health and social care services.

Role overview

This contract position runs for 11 months and offers the chance to contribute to a nationally important programme that may influence future service design and policy. The role is centred on shaping the most effective approach for a paediatric engagement programme, carrying out research at both national and international level, and turning evidence into practical project plans.

What you will do

  • Define and support the methodology for a new paediatric engagement programme.
  • Carry out research across Irish and international sources to inform programme development.
  • Build project plans and help guide delivery from design through implementation.
  • Monitor emerging trends and developments through horizon scanning.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across healthcare, government and regulatory environments.
  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative research, including literature review and evidence synthesis.
  • Analyse the current landscape and identify opportunities, risks and constraints.
  • Manage project risks and contribute to clear reporting and documentation.
  • Prepare findings and recommendations for different audiences and present them confidently.

What is required

  • A Level 8 qualification, or an equivalent degree, in a relevant area such as Public Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Social Care or Health Services Research.
  • At least 3 years of experience planning, managing and delivering projects with multiple stakeholders in health and/or social care settings.
  • Proven ability in research and analysis, including literature reviews, evidence synthesis and both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and supporting engagement activities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence facilitating groups and working with varied audiences.
  • Excellent project management, organisational and report-writing abilities.
  • Capability to handle multiple priorities and explain complex information in a clear, accessible way.

Working arrangement

The role is based in Dublin, with a hybrid setup that requires only 1 to 2 days per week on site in Cork.

Compensation and benefits

  • Annual salary of €76,500.
  • 27 days of annual leave.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact national project in a respected public-sector setting.
  • Exposure to professionals working across research, policy, healthcare and quality improvement.
  • Potentially valuable experience for future roles within the sector.

Additional information

This position is offered on an 11-month contract basis. The employer notes that the successful candidate will be working on a significant programme with the potential to shape health and social care services in Ireland.

Terms and conditions

The application process requires submission of an up-to-date CV. All standard employment terms, privacy notices and disclaimers apply in line with the recruiting organisation's policies.
