This position focuses on nurturing an assigned portfolio of business relationships, building new partnerships, and consistently delivering the sales outcomes linked to those relationships.
Organisation Overview
Aditya Birla Capital’s asset management business was established in 1994 as Birla Sunlife Asset Management Company (BSLAMC), through a joint venture between Aditya Birla Group and Sunlife Financial Inc., a major international financial services firm based in Canada. The company manages Birla Sunlife Mutual Funds and, as of December 2015, was the fourth-largest fund management house in India with an average AUM of more than INR 1.4 lakh crores. Among the 42 fund houses in the country, it held the leading position in Fixed Income AUM and ranked fifth in Equity AUM. Its average market share stood at around 10.2%, and it expanded its investor base by 20% to about 2.42 million from 2.01 million the previous year, securing the second position in that category.
Role Challenges
- Building strong, repeated recall for BSLAMC schemes among a distributor network that has access to a wide range of competing products.
- Staying continuously updated on market developments, distributor activity, and changing trends in a highly dynamic environment.
- Resolving investor service issues quickly and efficiently to maintain service quality.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain and grow revenue from the assigned set of relationships while contributing to regional sales targets.
- Gather market intelligence, identify prospective clients, make direct sales pitches, and work with channel partners to improve business growth.
- Conduct regular engagement and follow-up with distributors to strengthen relationships and support distribution objectives.
- Ensure complete adherence to internal reporting requirements and audit standards.
- Share weekly updates with Regional Heads and Channel Heads.
