Role Summary

Gradiant is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to support water and wastewater treatment projects in Muscat, Oman. The position centers on cost control, measurements, tender support, site valuation, payment verification, variation pricing, and coordination with project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates of cost and Bills of Quantities for assigned projects.
  • Carry out cost planning, feasibility assessments, and budget projections.
  • Track project spending and keep it aligned with approved financial limits.
  • Undertake cost value reconciliation and cash flow projections.
  • Handle contract administration in line with NEC, FIDIC, or comparable contract frameworks.
  • Support subcontract procurement, negotiation, and award processes.
  • Review interim valuations and process payment certificates.
  • Assess variations, claims, and change requests.
  • Contribute to dispute handling and risk reduction efforts.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and financial summaries for management.
  • Spot commercial risks and opportunities across projects.

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Join site visits to confirm progress and verify completed work.
  • Assist with value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or a closely related discipline.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally in water treatment, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Practical exposure to NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract forms.
  • Background in EPC or design-build project settings.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage several projects at the same time.
  • Excellent attention to detail and solid commercial understanding.
  • Membership in, or progress toward, a professional chartership such as RICS or an equivalent body is preferred.
