Role overview
This position is responsible for delivering dependable valuation and risk analytics to physical trading desks, helping ensure the full commercial value of available assets is captured across gas, LNG, shipping, storage, and regasification capacity. The role also contributes to deal structuring and valuation for origination and short-term trading activities, while supporting the growth of portfolio optimization and structured trading capabilities.
Experience and skill requirements
- A strong analytical mindset with hands-on use of quantitative finance and option-pricing methods on real-world energy transactions.
- Degree in a quantitative discipline from a globally recognized university; a postgraduate credential such as an MSc, MBA, or PhD is desirable.
- Good knowledge of commercial contract terms and conditions, negotiation workflows, documentation, and support for origination work.
- Practical exposure to the design, valuation, and risk management of financial and physical options.
- Strong command of Excel and coding/scripting tools such as Python, Julia, or similar languages.
- Clear communication and presentation abilities.
- Prior experience with optimization modeling is advantageous.
Additional information
The role requires at least 15 years of overall experience, including 5 years specifically in LNG deal structuring.
