Role Overview
The company is hiring a Payroll Analyst for its Shared Services team in Evansville, Indiana. This is an on-site position, and relocation support is not provided.
What You Will Do
- Administer weekly union payroll for multi-trade construction projects while staying aligned with collective bargaining agreements and prevailing wage requirements.
- Run weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and within deadlines.
- Prepare and examine audit, exception, and reconciliation reports to verify gross-to-net calculations, labor hours, pay rates, and deductions.
- Handle payroll-related payments and records, including checks, pay statements, direct deposits, garnishments, employment insurance claims, and correspondence with government agencies.
- Reconcile payroll transactions with connected systems such as job costing, the general ledger, payroll tax processes, and child support payments, and work with outsourced payroll tax compliance partners when needed.
- Compile and file union and non-union payroll records, including certified payroll, prevailing wage, and benefits funding reports, and support audits and compliance checks across federal, state, and project-specific rules.
- Respond to payroll tax notices, manage compliance tasks, and investigate and resolve payroll issues.
- Build queries, reports, Excel files, and summary analyses as requested.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
What You Need
- At least 3 years of payroll processing experience in the US and Canada, with a strong emphasis on union settings and prevailing wage compliance.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Prior exposure to construction ERP platforms such as Sage, Vista, or Jonas is preferred.
- Excellent analytical ability, strong attention to detail, dependable accuracy, time management, and the ability to protect confidential information.
- A track record of completing work with speed and precision.
