Part-Time Carpenter

Position Summary

This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and building carpentry-related fixtures and surfaces at Coors Field and McGregor Square. The carpenter will handle woodwork, casework, furniture, ceilings, walls, and flooring, while also supporting general interior and exterior maintenance needs. The position works with the Manager of Engineering to prioritize maintenance and carpenter requests so they are completed promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct and repair walls, cabinetry, ceilings, flooring, and other wood finishes.
• Carry out layout work, framing, drywall installation, taping, and finishing.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, laminate, and other materials to exact dimensions using hand tools, machines, and power saws.
• Complete repairs to flooring materials such as tile, carpet, and rubber, including restaining and refinishing where needed.
• Handle millwork repairs across Coors Field and McGregor Square.
• Build or restore cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and similar wooden fixtures with woodworking equipment and hand or power tools.
• Design and install cabinets, shelving, built-in furniture, drywall, and insulation.
• Support preventive maintenance tasks tied to general carpentry, such as ceiling tile repairs, patching and painting walls, flooring fixes, and millwork touch-ups.
• Take on special projects that require measurement, material ordering, scheduling, and timely execution of carpentry installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings accurately.
• Follow safety practices and equipment procedures to help maintain an accident-free workplace.
• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks through the Angus work order system.
• Work from verbal or written instructions and apply standard carpentry methods to complete assigned tasks.
• Use independent judgment when urgent needs or emergency situations arise.
• Track supplies, place orders with vendors as needed, and keep inventory organized.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist other department, ballpark, or McGregor Square work areas when directed by leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of carpentry experience in maintenance or construction.
• Preferred computer skills include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF software.
• Ability to use a cell phone for clocking in and out and receiving work orders.
• Comfort using tools and equipment such as a tape measure, level, laser level, table saw, sander, hammer, forklift, lifts, and carts.
• Experience working with and repairing laminated cabinetry.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing, since driving may be part of the job.
• Consistent attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work effectively with co-workers and supervisors in a team setting.
• Capable of working regular daytime hours on weekdays, with advance notice provided for schedule changes whenever possible.

Working Schedule

This is a part-time role averaging 28 hours per week during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work may be scheduled as shorter daily shifts or three full days per week.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Frequent use of ladders, scaffolding, and lifts may be required to reach rooftops, ceilings, and other elevated areas.
• Regular kneeling, bending, squatting, and crouching are needed for work in tight spaces and low areas.
• Overhead reaching may be necessary for ceiling-related repairs and installations.
• Work may require long periods of standing and walking on uneven, outdoor, or hard surfaces while carrying tools and materials.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and manipulate small parts is important.
• Repetitive hand and arm movements are part of daily tasks.
• Must be able to see clearly, read gauges, inspect equipment, and complete precise work.
• Must be able to hear instructions, alarms, warning sounds, and calls for assistance.
• Work environments may include offices, mechanical rooms, hallways, rooftops, parking lots, grounds, and other indoor or outdoor spaces.
• Exposure to extreme cold, heat, dust, noise, and potentially hazardous materials may occur.
• The environment can be loud, reaching up to 130 decibels for short periods; hearing protection is used as appropriate.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $30 to $35 per hour. Because this is a part-time position, it is not eligible for company health and welfare benefits.
