About the role
Join a refinery operations team focused on preparing and coordinating safe shutdown and turnaround activities at the Tuas refinery in Singapore. The position supports work that directly contributes to sustainable fuels and circular feedstock solutions, and requires someone who is adaptable, self-driven, and comfortable working independently with a wide range of stakeholders.
The role sits within the Operations Event Team and is centered on planning, preparation, execution support, and continuous improvement for refinery events that affect operations, maintenance, and project commissioning.

What you will do
- Plan, prepare, and support the execution of operational events for designated units, including related resource planning.
- Coordinate refinery turnaround activities, unit shutdowns, and major maintenance work such as tank inspections and absorbent replacement.
- Support pre-commissioning and initial start-up activities for capital investment projects.
- Act as a backup member of the event team for turnarounds and unit shutdowns when needed.
- Monitor turnaround and shutdown execution, guide shift teams as required, and report progress.
- Serve as the operations liaison to external parties and suppliers involved in turnaround and shutdown preparation and execution, as assigned by the Operations Event Lead.
- Help improve shutdown, start-up, and clearing work instructions for the designated area.
- Review, correct, and enhance assigned operations work procedures.
- Review shift team shutdown instructions to confirm that all required scope items are included.
- Communicate event requirements and train shift teams accordingly.
- Work closely with both internal teams and external partners throughout the process.
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- At least one of the following combinations of education and experience: Polytechnic Diploma with 3 years of supervisory experience, Higher NITEC with 5 years of supervisory experience, or GCE O Level with 8 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience must be in a petrochemical or refinery environment.
- Strong ability to work independently and adapt to change.
- Self-motivated, cooperative, and able to communicate well across different stakeholder groups.
