Role overview
The Night Porter plays a key part in keeping the hotel operating smoothly between evening and morning. This is a practical, guest-facing position focused on maintaining high brand standards while the property is quiet.
What the role involves
During the night, you will oversee key food and beverage operations for the hotel, greet guests in a warm and supportive way, and make sure shared areas remain clean and presentable. You will also prepare meeting and event areas for the following day.
Other duties include helping guests with luggage, responding to enquiries, and completing nightly health and safety checks. The role requires good organisation and strong communication skills.
Working pattern and contract
This is a permanent full-time position based at Hotel du Vin Birmingham in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. The role is for 40 hours per week and pays £13.17 per hour plus TRONC/service charge.
The hotel operates every day of the year, so shifts may include a variety of days and times. There is flexibility in how shifts and contracted hours may be arranged, and this can be discussed during the interview process.
Experience and development
Prior experience in a similar position is an advantage, and previous night-shift experience is required. The employer also offers nationally recognised apprenticeships and brand training for those seeking career development.
