Role overview
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will oversee electronics manufacturing operations in Dallas, TX. This position calls for deep experience in electronics production and a track record of strong people leadership.
Core responsibilities
- Direct end-to-end electronic assembly, testing, and production activities.
- Lead and coach sizeable cross-functional groups across production, engineering, and supervisory functions.
- Deliver performance against safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Create and execute operating plans that support broader business goals.
- Advance process improvement efforts through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and similar methods.
- Spot and implement changes that improve output, quality, and operating efficiency.
- Guide root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to resolve issues at the source.
- Build a work environment centered on accountability, engagement, and ongoing improvement.
- Track and improve key measures such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and labor efficiency.
- Use daily management tools and dashboards to support timely decisions.
- Spend regular time on the shop floor to identify problems and remove bottlenecks.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and related teams to keep operations aligned.
- Support new product launches and the transfer of processes into production.
- Contribute to design-for-manufacturability efforts and overall process optimization.
- Prepare and manage budgets and operating plans.
- Reduce costs while preserving quality and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with medium- and long-term capacity planning.
- Maintain compliance with safety rules and quality requirements.
- Oversee quality management systems and help support audit readiness.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience, ideally in electronics.
- Minimum 5 years in leadership roles managing large teams.
- Strong command of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Demonstrated success in leading operational change and delivering business outcomes.
- Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume production environments.
- Working knowledge of PCB assembly, electronics testing, ESD controls, and production planning.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Strong analytical thinking and data-based decision-making ability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and change management capabilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- MBA or an advanced technical qualification.
- Background in regulated manufacturing settings.
- Experience growing operations and supporting scale-up.
- Exposure to automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0.
- Experience managing relationships across global supply chains.
