Maintenance Manager

Role overview

An established manufacturing business in Waterford is looking for a seasoned Maintenance Manager to take charge of its site maintenance function on a permanent basis. The company is part of a larger and expanding group, and this role supports continued growth and operational development at the facility.

What you will do

• Guide, coach, and strengthen the maintenance team while overseeing staffing plans, team performance, and the work of outside contractors.
• Build and run preventative maintenance plans that improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned stoppages.
• Act as the key technical point of contact during equipment failures and urgent production issues, with a focus on safe and effective operation of plant machinery and utilities.
• Take the lead on capital works, machinery improvements, new installations, commissioning tasks, and ongoing improvement projects.
• Make sure engineering practices remain aligned with standards, legal obligations, risk controls, and safe working procedures.

What we are looking for

• A third-level engineering qualification or a recognised trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or a closely related area.
• At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership position.
• Solid technical understanding of manufacturing and production equipment.
• Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance systems and leading engineering teams.
