Role Overview
The Maintenance Assistant Manager will support the Maintenance Manager in running the daily upkeep of Al Qadsiah Club facilities. The position is responsible for helping ensure that mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and general maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the club’s standards. It also involves coordinating teams, handling contractors, and keeping facilities operational and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily maintenance work across the club’s facilities.
- Help run preventive and corrective maintenance programs so equipment and systems continue to perform reliably.
- Lead and monitor maintenance technicians and support staff to ensure tasks are completed to the expected standard.
- Assist with creating maintenance schedules, work plans, and staffing/resource allocations.
- Coordinate specialized work with contractors and service providers while checking contract compliance and safety adherence.
- Track maintenance work orders, follow up on open tasks, and help close jobs on the CMMS system in a timely manner.
- Support the management of spare parts, tools, and materials to maintain availability and control costs.
- Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and encourage safe work habits.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and reporting on maintenance performance and facility condition.
- Help monitor maintenance spending and flag budget variances to the Maintenance Manager.
- Step in as the Maintenance Manager’s delegate when needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or another related technical discipline.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or assistant management position.
- Solid understanding of building maintenance systems, including MEP, HVAC, civil works, and general facility maintenance.
- Prior experience in large-scale properties such as sports clubs, stadiums, hotels, malls, or mixed-use developments.
- Ability to use CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications effectively.
- Good English communication skills; Arabic is considered an advantage.
- Experience in sports facilities or club settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems, and maintenance best practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and compliance expectations is preferred.
- Experience managing multiple teams, shifts, and contractors in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
