Logistics Supervisor

Role Overview

This position is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics movement, coordinating fleet operations, and ensuring smooth delivery from the factory to distribution centers and then to customer locations. The role also involves supervising drivers and helpers, maintaining compliance records, and improving performance through planning and analysis.

Operations and Fleet Management

• Direct the movement of goods from the factory to the distribution center, as well as from the distribution center to customers.
• Build daily delivery schedules with support from sales and warehouse teams and make sure they are carried out efficiently.
• Track delivery routes and refine them to improve productivity and lower operating expense.
• Oversee the full company fleet, including vans, trailers, and leased vehicles, ensuring they remain available, serviced, and ready for use.
• Liaise with external trailer providers and vehicle leasing partners whenever additional support is needed.

Team Leadership and Development

• Supervise a team of drivers and logistics assistants, allocate work, and review day-to-day output.
• Assess team performance regularly using measures such as delivery accuracy, punctuality, fuel consumption, and vehicle idle time.
• Support the development of logistics helpers into driver roles and encourage internal growth.
• Promote discipline, professionalism, and accountability across the logistics workforce.

Compliance and Records Management

• Make sure all vehicles have current permits, registrations, and insurance in line with government regulations.
• Manage renewals, approvals, and coordination with relevant authorities to keep transportation operations compliant.
• Keep structured records for fleet paperwork, driver licenses, and compliance documentation.

Planning and Performance Analysis

• Track key logistics measures such as cost per delivery, on-time performance, idle time, and vehicle utilization.
• Review fleet data to identify ways to reduce expenses and improve service quality.
• Work closely with warehouse, sales, and procurement teams to align logistics activity with business requirements.
