Junior Data Analyst

Role Overview

The Chamber of Tax Consultants is seeking an entry-level Junior Data Analyst to join its team in Australia. This full-time position is suited to someone who is naturally inquisitive, comfortable working with numbers, and keen to turn raw information into practical business insight. The role will involve partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve performance, support decisions, and uncover opportunities for growth.

What You Will Do

• Gather, clean, and structure data from different sources.
• Analyze datasets to spot trends, patterns, and useful insights.
• Build and update reports, dashboards, and visual summaries.
• Support KPI monitoring and business performance reporting.
• Help prepare datasets for analytics and business intelligence work.
• Carry out ad hoc analysis based on changing business needs.
• Maintain high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Work with teams across the organization to understand reporting needs.
• Present findings in a clear, simple way for non-technical stakeholders.
• Document data logic, process steps, definitions, and reporting approaches.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar discipline. You should bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with solid attention to detail. Practical knowledge of SQL for extracting and analyzing data is needed, and you should be comfortable using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and charts. Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio would be useful, and basic Python or R knowledge is considered an added advantage. An understanding of data analysis concepts, KPIs, and reporting is important. Internship exposure or academic project work in data analysis will be beneficial.
