Overview

Mercy is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician to support housekeeping operations at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing patient-care areas and other parts of the facility to help maintain infection control standards and meet regulatory expectations. The work contributes directly to a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

Shift and schedule

This opportunity is for a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. Candidates should be comfortable working a mixed schedule that may include day and evening shifts, along with weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Pay is reviewed based on relevant work history. Starting compensation begins at $15 per hour, plus additional shift differentials.

Minimum qualifications

No formal education or prior experience is required.

Preferred qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Helpful experience includes hospital environmental services, following written and verbal instructions, completing manual tasks, and working with the public or in customer service.

Physical demands

The role requires the ability to regularly push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. It also involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing duties.
