Home Orientation Representative

Role overview

Empire Homes is hiring a Home Orientation Representative to handle pre-closing home inspections for newly constructed properties. The role focuses on identifying and documenting deficiencies in line with the Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines and the Ontario Building Code. You will also run in-person Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) with homeowners and the construction team before the Initial Warranty Form is submitted, and you will track the closure of any remaining issues. This is a replacement position supporting communities in Breslau, Caledonia, and Brantford.

Compensation

The expected pay for this position is between $50,000 and $65,000 per year. The role is also eligible for the company’s short-term incentive program. Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and broader market and business factors.

Key duties

• Arrange inspection appointments with homeowners according to the construction closing schedule.
• Run pre-closing inspections and document any deficiencies found.
• Lead PDI walkthroughs with homeowners and the construction team.
• Monitor and support the resolution of outstanding warranty and deficiency items.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and aging updates for internal use.
• Communicate with homeowners and internal Empire teams by email.
• Create on-site files and packages, including printing site files and CCP documentation.
• Complete exterior site audits.
• Assist on-site administrative staff when needed.
• Carry out follow-up orientations related to home operations after closing.
• Travel between different sites and office locations as required.

Requirements

• College diploma or degree in a related field.
• Two to three years of relevant experience; exposure to Tarion CPG and the Ontario Building Code is an advantage.
• Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office, and able to learn new software tools.
• Customer service experience is considered an asset.
• A valid G driver’s licence is required.
