Successful candidates will be expected to reflect MBCC’s values, including honesty and transparency, integrity, a results-oriented mindset, fit-for-purpose solutions, sustainable legacy building, accountability, zero harm, and strong partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee geological, drilling, assay, QA/QC, and production datasets so they remain accurate, complete, well-controlled, and available when needed.
- Handle large volumes of data from drilling, sampling, laboratory work, and mining activities, while tracking and resolving missing or inconsistent records with the relevant teams.
- Support geological database governance, improvement initiatives, and integration across systems such as Acquire, DataShed, IMDEXHUB, IMAGO, KRUX, and related platforms.
- Assist with laboratory audits to confirm that required quality procedures are being followed, and ensure CRM stock levels are monitored and replenishment is arranged in advance.
- Build dashboards, automated reporting, and business intelligence solutions using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, or comparable technologies.
- Contribute to trend analysis, reconciliation studies, operational performance reviews, and other analytics that improve mining and geology outcomes.
- Explore predictive analytics, machine learning, scenario analysis, and other data science methods to support geological and mining decision-making.
- Improve workflows through automation, reduce manual data handling, and support the roll-out of AI-enabled and digital mining initiatives.
- Maintain safety records, administrative documentation, safety reporting, performance tracking, and audit close-outs in line with company requirements.
- Work with IT, mining, procurement, and maintenance teams to ensure systems are integrated and support operational needs.
- Train and assist users on dashboards, reports, scripts, and database tools, and help introduce new hires through onboarding safety training and orientation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline such as Geology, GIS, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Additional credentials in database management, analytics, AI, or business intelligence are considered an advantage.
- Between 2 and 5 years of professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of data quality practices and reporting.
- Solid SQL and relational database management capability.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Working knowledge of Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.

- Understanding of geological, drilling, assay, and production data processes.
- Familiarity with geological database platforms and mining software systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication, planning, organization, and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
- Self-driven mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
- Ability to manage pressure, competing priorities, and work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.

- Opportunity to create meaningful impact and contribute to long-term results.
- A chance to work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, high-performing environment.
- Learning and growth opportunities alongside industry professionals.
