Role overview

As a genetic counselor, you will use specialized training in genetics and counseling to help patients understand a cancer diagnosis, assess inherited risk, explore surveillance options, and consider possible treatment paths. The role also involves offering emotional support while complex genetic information is turned into practical healthcare decisions.

Work location and schedule

This position is based at The Sanctuary - Regional Cancer Center, 8931 Colonial Center Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33905, in the Admin Services - OP Ctr department. It is a full-time role on Shift 1, running from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a hybrid work arrangement.

The remote portion of the job must be performed within Florida. The hybrid setup may change depending on business requirements and performance. While working remotely, you must keep communication prompt and clear, maintain a dependable schedule, and move back to the office if internet or phone service is interrupted.

Pay

The role offers an hourly pay range of $33.36 to $43.36.

Qualifications

• A master's degree from a program approved by the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required.
• At least three years of directly related experience is preferred.
• ABGC board certification is required for candidates holding a Florida GC license.
• Candidates with a TGC license must be actively working toward certification.
• A Florida Genetic Counselor (GC) license or Temporary Genetic Counselor (TGC) license is required.
• General computer proficiency and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities effectively are needed.
