Flaggers (Base and Highway Divisions)

About the Role

Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is looking for seasonal flaggers to support its Base and Highway Divisions in Cornwall, England. This role focuses on keeping traffic moving safely around active construction zones while helping crews and the public navigate work areas responsibly.

What You’ll Do

• Direct vehicles and manage traffic flow safely at construction sites.
• Watch for hazards and help maintain a secure work zone for crews and the public.
• Set out, maintain, and remove traffic control equipment such as cones, barrels, and signs.
• Use two-way radios to stay in contact with team members.
• Handle public questions in a polite and professional manner.
• Support general labour tasks when needed.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime when required.
• Willingness to travel and work outside the local area as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and working outdoors in changing weather.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Good listening, communication, and hazard-awareness skills.
• Ability to follow safety rules, work procedures, and company policies.
• CSA-approved steel-toed boots are required.

Additional Information

This is a seasonal, full-time onsite position. Work may occasionally extend into weekends, and the role can involve travel and out-of-town assignments.

Eligibility

Applicants should be ready to work outdoors, handle traffic control duties safely, and meet the physical and scheduling demands of a construction environment.
