About Apptegy

Apptegy is a technology company focused on helping schools communicate more effectively and tell their stories in a way that strengthens community engagement and celebrates student achievement. The company emphasizes a high-performing, collaborative culture and offers strong mentorship and resources for professional growth.

Role Overview

Apptegy is hiring a Financial Analyst to support financial clarity and guide strategic choices across the business. Based in the Finance team, this person will work closely with leaders in Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to turn financial and operational data into actionable insight.

This is a high-visibility individual contributor role for someone who can think strategically, communicate clearly, and translate complex analysis into recommendations that help the company invest, grow, and scale. The role also includes building more automated and scalable finance processes by using AI tools and modern planning platforms.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of core planning and analysis activities, support forecasting and performance management, and help improve the finance infrastructure as the company grows.

  • Lead important parts of the planning process, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Create and maintain financial models for revenue, operating expenses, and headcount.
  • Build scenario analyses to assess the balance between growth, profitability, and investment.
  • Run monthly and quarterly business reviews with variance and trend commentary for leadership.
  • Study financial results and SaaS metrics such as revenue, pipeline, retention, and customer growth to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Convert complex financial data into clear, practical recommendations for senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with leaders across departments and go-to-market teams to evaluate initiatives, allocate resources, and assess growth opportunities.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling for major initiatives, including pricing, new product investments, and operational improvements.
  • Enhance and maintain models, dashboards, and reporting tools so decision-making is faster and more reliable.
  • Implement and improve FP&A platforms and related systems to reduce manual work and strengthen workflows.
  • Design automated, AI-supported reporting and finance processes that improve speed, accuracy, and data quality.
  • Prepare concise leadership and board materials and help refine planning processes as the organization scales.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, business curiosity, and the confidence to influence decisions through thoughtful financial storytelling.

  • At least 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, or a similar analytical function.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills, including scenario planning and analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience using AI tools, automation, or scripting to streamline finance workflows and reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to interpret complex information and turn it into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Background working cross-functionally and influencing business decisions through analysis.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription business with familiarity in ARR, retention, LTV/CAC, and payback metrics.
  • Experience in a fast-growing environment where systems and processes are still evolving.
  • Interest or hands-on experience using generative AI tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, or automation.
  • Exposure to FP&A tools such as Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive, or Planful.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM platforms such as NetSuite or Salesforce.
  • Comfort working with BI tools or querying data using SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
