Role overview
This opportunity is with a privately held real estate investment and operating company managing roughly 2,500 multifamily homes across several markets in the western United States. The business is centered on building durable value through well-planned acquisitions, attentive asset management, and disciplined financial oversight. With an experienced leadership group and a collaborative environment, the organization emphasizes responsible investing and long-term growth.
The Finance Manager will be a key contributor in overseeing the company’s debt portfolio and helping guide strategic financial choices across the organization. Working closely with senior leadership, this person will keep track of loan timelines, assess refinancing options, manage relationships with lenders, and deliver analysis that supports business expansion.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee debt commitments, track loan maturities, evaluate refinancing paths, and monitor payoff timelines
- Keep an eye on interest rate movement, capital market activity, and broader economic conditions
- Work with lenders, brokers, and financial institutions on a regular basis
- Assist in discussions and negotiations around loan structures and refinancing opportunities
- Review portfolio results and suggest financing actions based on analysis
- Support funding efforts for acquired or foreclosed assets
- Create financial reports and executive-level presentations for leadership
- Maintain precise debt schedules and ensure important deadlines are met
- Look for ways to streamline financial processes and improve reporting quality
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business, or a closely related discipline
- At least 5-7+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, debt management, lending, capital markets, or financial analysis
- Well-developed financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Working knowledge of debt markets, interest rates, and commercial lending practices
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
