Key responsibilities

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing financial performance, ensuring compliance, and partnering with operations across the project.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial control, and cost monitoring for Qatar activities.
  • Track project performance across revenue, costs, margins, and cash flow, and flag opportunities and risks.
  • Complete monthly close activities accurately, including revenue recognition, accruals, and cost allocations.
  • Review variances versus budget and forecast, then share practical recommendations with management.

  • Prepare monthly reporting packs within Group deadlines and maintain compliance with IFRS, Group policies, and internal controls.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and close audit observations on time.
  • Monitor commitments, contingencies, and project-related financial risks in reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasts, collections, payments, working capital, and receivables follow-up.
  • Maintain control over bank accounts, payments, and financial commitments.
  • Review contract terms from a financial standpoint and ensure billing milestones and payment terms are followed.
  • Monitor variations, claims, and change orders and evaluate their financial effect.
  • Provide financial inputs for client discussions and contract revisions.
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting with inputs from operations and procurement teams.
  • Update forecasts regularly based on project progress and emerging risks.
  • Coordinate with local, regional, and HQ finance teams to keep reporting and processes aligned.
  • Oversee and support the accountant, including review of journal entries, deliverables, and deadline adherence.
  • Guide and coach team members to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant outputs.
  • Act as the main finance contact for the project and ensure effective use of SAP, SMART, or similar systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are beneficial.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in finance, with strong exposure to project controlling.
  • Background in large infrastructure, construction, or other project-based environments.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East, especially Qatar, is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage project financials and collaborate effectively with operations teams.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and project controlling.
  • Good understanding of IFRS and financial governance requirements.
  • Hands-on proficiency with SAP and reporting tools.
