Role overview
PriceSmart is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and smooth operation of the club and warehouse facilities in Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica. The position focuses on maintaining equipment, fixtures, and building systems, while helping ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Qualifications and experience
- You should have completed five CSEC subjects, with English Language and Mathematics included.
- A diploma or trade certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, Building Services Maintenance, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HVAC), or Plumbing is preferred and would be considered an advantage.
- A valid general driver’s licence is required.
- Forklift certification is an added advantage.
- The role calls for 2 to 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, industrial maintenance, or another comparable technical position.
- Experience supporting commercial buildings, warehouses, manufacturing sites, or retail operations is also relevant.
Key responsibilities
- Build, repair, and maintain fixtures, structures, and equipment within the club.
- Plan and carry out the preventive maintenance programme for warehouse equipment and fixtures.
- Handle both routine and more complex repairs for faulty equipment, and complete weekly fogging duties.
- Follow safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures by using the protective and security equipment supplied.
- Support special club initiatives such as marketing setups, banner placement, and accessory installation.
- Carry out maintenance and repair work across the club’s facilities.
- Keep the warehouse floor area clean and orderly.
- Oversee STP operations.
- Remove waste during store operating hours and at closing.
- Protect and account for equipment, fixtures, spare parts, and tools.
