The opportunity
Join Downer’s Energy and Utilities team as an Energy Planner and contribute to the delivery of important infrastructure work across New Zealand. In this position, you will coordinate planning and scheduling activities across several projects, helping ensure the work is completed safely, efficiently, and within the required timelines.
You will work alongside Project Managers, Supervisors, and other key stakeholders to maintain accurate schedules, handle updates to outage and work plans, and identify risks and process improvements before they affect delivery. The role is fast-moving and requires someone who can make the best use of resources while supporting strong planning outcomes that help projects succeed.
What we're looking for
You should be a well-organised and analytical professional who can manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment with confidence.
- Background in project planning or scheduling, preferably in utilities, construction, or infrastructure
- Ability to use MS Project or similar scheduling software effectively
- Strong Excel capability, including analysing data and turning it into useful insights
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders across different projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others and build productive relationships
- High attention to detail and the ability to juggle several workstreams at once
- An electrical qualification, or work toward one, is an advantage
