Electrical Installation Engineer – Smart Utility Systems - Bilingual

Role overview

This position is for an experienced electrical installation professional to oversee site execution for smart utility systems in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on managing electrical installation work, checking compliance, and supporting successful project delivery across multiple sites.

Candidates should bring 9 to 12 years of relevant background in electrical installation and site supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the installation of electrical systems, equipment, and associated infrastructure at project locations.
• Verify that all work follows approved drawings, electrical regulations, and utility requirements.
• Perform site walkthroughs, installation verification, and quality reviews.
• Spot installation defects or deviations and resolve issues through corrective action.
• Manage schedules, manpower allocation, and resources to keep work on track.
• Work with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution.
• Assess method statements, risk assessments, and technical documents before implementation.
• Guide junior engineers and installation crews with technical direction.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and final handover processes.
• Support adherence to ISO requirements, HSE rules, and risk control procedures.
• Keep documentation, reports, and inspection logs accurate and up to date.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
• At least 9 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation and on-site supervision is necessary.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and compliance requirements is expected.
• Exposure to smart utility metering installation standards will be considered an advantage.
• Practical experience in installation oversight, inspections, troubleshooting, and coordination is important.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities are needed.
• Professional English communication skills are essential; Arabic language skills are an added benefit.
