Role overview
We are seeking a seasoned Design Manager with a background in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Product Development to guide the creation of innovative products from early concept all the way to production readiness.
This position carries significant influence, combining technical depth, long-term thinking, and team leadership to deliver solutions that go beyond customer expectations and move smoothly into manufacturing.
In this role, you will help shape and deliver product development strategies that serve customer needs and business goals. Working with international teams, you will promote strong design standards, encourage ongoing improvement, and help deliver complex engineering programmes successfully.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and motivate a varied design and engineering team, building a working environment focused on innovation, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
- Turn customer needs and business priorities into practical design plans and clear engineering action programmes.
- Manage the full product development journey, including concept creation, detailed design, validation, industrialisation, and launch.
- Make sure products satisfy critical quality targets, relevant regulations, and manufacturability requirements.
- Lead the creation of solutions that improve customer experience in both B2B and B2C settings.
- Coordinate several projects at once while keeping to approved schedules, budgets, and performance goals.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Management, and Commercial functions to support successful implementation.
- Contribute to global product strategies that align with wider growth ambitions.
- Lead design reviews, risk evaluations, and improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and performance.
