Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a DataStage ETL specialist in Toronto, Ontario, with an onsite presence required four days per week. The role offers an hourly pay rate of CAD 45 to CAD 50, billed on an incorporated basis.
Interview process
Candidates should be prepared for a face-to-face interview conducted onsite only.
Technical expertise
- Hands-on mastery of IBM InfoSphere DataStage for ETL development and support.
- Strong command of SQL for building complex queries and carrying out data analysis.
- Practical experience with enterprise scheduling platforms such as Stonebranch or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Unix and shell scripting for automation and support tasks.
- Experience using version control and deployment tools, including GitHub and UrbanCode Deploy.
Architecture and functional knowledge
- Solid understanding of ETL architecture and implementation patterns.
- Good grasp of data warehousing principles and related methodologies.
- Working familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Collaboration and analysis
- Regular use of team collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to investigate complex datasets and identify the root cause of technical issues.
