Data Scientist

Role overview

FirstCash is looking for a Data Scientist who can transform complex datasets into practical insights that help shape better business decisions. The position focuses on advanced analytics, machine learning, and data visualization to support work across credit, fraud, and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Work through large datasets to identify meaningful patterns and inform strategic decisions.
• Design, build, and support machine learning models used for credit risk, fraud detection, and marketing analysis.
• Prepare concise reports and presentations for business teams and leadership.
• Streamline recurring reporting tasks and develop dashboards with Tableau or Power BI.
• Update and improve existing R and SQL code, including tasks related to database management.
• Create repeatable reports using Markdown.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or another related technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in financial services.
• Hands-on background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization tools.
• Working knowledge of R, SQL, and reporting platforms.
