Data Analyst

Role overview

KGS Technology Group, Inc is hiring a Data Analyst for a remote position based in the United States. This is a full-time role suited to candidates with 0 to 2 years of experience. The opportunity is aimed at recent master’s graduates who are enthusiastic about analytics, business intelligence, and turning raw data into practical business recommendations.

What you will do

• Gather data from different sources, prepare it for analysis, and work with large datasets.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visual summaries that help teams make informed decisions.
• Spot patterns, trends, and insights that can drive business action.
• Check data for accuracy, validate it, and maintain overall data quality.
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver the right outputs.
• Build and update KPIs and performance tracking metrics.
• Contribute to business intelligence efforts and other data-led initiatives.
• Share findings, insights, and recommendations with leadership in a clear and persuasive way.

What the role calls for

• Strong analytical thinking and confident problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
• Working knowledge of SQL for extracting and manipulating data.
• Hands-on experience with cleaning datasets and validating data integrity.
• Ability to interpret statistical results and translate data into business insight.
• Skill in building reports and visualizations for different audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
• Careful attention to detail and comfort working with large volumes of information.

Preferred technical background

• Knowledge of SQL features such as joins, views, stored procedures, and CTEs.
• Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Familiarity with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn.
• Exposure to R programming.
• Advanced Excel plus VBA.
• Understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Basic awareness of machine learning concepts.
• Exposure to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is an added advantage.

Preferred qualification

A master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
