Position Overview
The Custodian supports the Physical Plant department by keeping assigned buildings and spaces clean, safe, and organized. The role focuses on regular daytime cleaning routines so that offices, classrooms, restrooms, and other areas stay neat and ready for use.
Role Details
Department: Physical Plant
Reports to: Custodial Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Employment Term: Full-time, 12 months, non-exempt
Key Duties
- Carry out routine cleaning across office areas, classrooms, and restrooms.
- Remove waste by collecting trash and disposing of it appropriately.
- Keep surfaces free of dust and maintain general cleanliness.
- Strip and wax floors as part of scheduled maintenance.
- Monitor, replenish, and manage cleaning supplies when needed.
- Clean windows to maintain a professional appearance.
- Operate custodial equipment such as commercial vacuums and floor buffers.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Director of Physical Plant.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, along with prior work experience in custodial services or facility maintenance.

This position is a full-time, year-round role and is classified as non-exempt.
